Six Photos That Build a Profile Worth Clicking
A simple pyramid structure tells you exactly which photo goes where and why, so your profile does the work before you send a single message.
You haven't thought about a dating profile in years, maybe ever. Now you're staring at your camera roll, trying to figure out which photos make you look like a capable, interesting person rather than someone who doesn't pay attention to details. The good news: this is a solvable problem, and it has a clear structure.
The Photo Pyramid
Think of your six photos as three levels, each with a specific job.
Level 1: The Foundation (Photo 1)
One job: make her want to see more. That means a clear face shot with natural light, a genuine smile, sharp focus, and a photo taken within the last 12 months. What kills it: sunglasses, group shots where she has to guess which one you are, selfies, or photos with other women, even family.
Level 2: The Proof (Photos 2 and 3)
These confirm her initial interest and show range.
Photo 2 is a full-body shot: you in well-fitted clothes, relaxed posture, looking like a person who goes places. Photo 3 is an activity shot, hiking, cooking, playing guitar, at a museum or brewery. It says you have interests and leave the house. Skip hunting photos, fishing photos, and anything that needs a caption to make sense.
Level 3: The Context (Photos 4, 5, and 6)
These three build depth and give her something to ask about.
Photo 4 is social proof: you at a wedding or group dinner, clearly identifiable, clearly sober. Photo 5 is a conversation starter: a travel shot from somewhere interesting, you with your own dog, or a hobby that shows a skill. Photo 6 is optional lifestyle context: cooking dinner, at a nice restaurant, relaxed at home. It shows what spending time with you might look like.
That's the full structure. Six photos, three levels, one clear purpose each. No overthinking required.
